Nike Football+ coaching clinic

On 10th December, Hall Seven Soccer was invited to an exclusive Nike Football+ coaching clinic at St. Patrick’s Secondary School. Over 80 boys were invited to this special event, in which they were given an exclusive insight into the training programme of the reigning UEFA Champions League winner, FC Barcelona. This event also allows the participants a chance to have a feel of the newly launched CTR360 Masestri boots.

Trying out the new CTR360 Maestri boots

The boys were given a digital preview of the training drills, which Andres Iniesta, Xavi (Barcelona) and Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal) had undergone while they were promising youngsters at the world famous youth academy of Barcelona. The Master Control training drills, which include signature moves of Iniesta and Fabregas, are demonstrated by the players themselves. The drills placed high emphasis on the mastery of the ball, comprising of control, technique and passing. As Barcelona head coach, Pep Guardiola had said in the video, “Control the ball, control the game”.

Coach Abdullah Noor guiding the boys through some of the drills

After watching the video, the boys were given a chance to practice the drills under the watchful guidance of the coaches, led by former Singapore international striker, Abdullah Noor. The drills culminated in the “Cesc Challenge”, whereby the participants had to complete a series of skill challenges, and a special prize was given to the fastest player who completed the challenge.

The “Cesc Challenge”

Wanting to have a trial of the CTR360 Maestri boots, yours truly was given a chance to compete with the youngsters. It was a close fight with me losing out to the eventual winner by a few seconds. The dampening pods on the outside of the forefoot provided a softer first touch when receiving the ball. Meanwhile, the instep utilised a harder material to provide a lighter more controlled take but quicker delivery, minimising time on the ball. In order to maximize comfort, a sock liner with an additional comfort layer sits within the boot, reducing stress on the foot and minimising friction.

Get Serious. Get To Work.

Dudes, if all of you dont realised, our first match will most probably be on next tuesday, and to make things worse, we haven had any friendly games since after exams.

So i need all of you to know that every training now is crucial. Take for example today's trg, where coach did some tactical training, but some of the players are not present. Thus, it is very hard to get eveyone familarised with the system and the tactics that we are going to play.

So, i urge all of you to try to make it for every single trainings so that you wont missed out on the tactical part of the game, and that everyone knows and understand how we should play as a team, knowing each others' part and roles during the game, which is a very important aspect of football.

Last of all, saw this video and want to share with you guys. Talent without hard work equals nothing. If even the professionals are training so hard, that does not exclude us too.

Nobody ever said its going to be easy.

Football is just a game. It’s really no big deal at all, as long as you have a bit of talent.
You don’t need to work, you won’t have to sweat. Right?
Of course not.
Check out Vincent Kompany and Moussa Dembélé getting down to business.

Looking into the "NEAR" future...

Ok guys, this is the proposed plan for the holidays after exams, so that all of you can have a rough idea of what is going to happen and also, for you guys to plan your timetable during DEC.

If possible, im looking at training TWICE a week. One training will be by coach, and another training on our own, mostly technique based. I think it will be useful to delicate one trg on improving our lousy techniques. Also, we will most likely be having more friendly games(maybe on sat or sun).

Training timings will most probably be morning or early afternoon(to be confirmed with coach again), so that for the rest of the day you all can go for other sports' trgs.

Lastly, for the time being, these are the things you all can do when you are 'free':

1. When you feel like taking a break from studying, go for a RUN. The 179 route is the best route to choose, covering almost 3km, with one shag upslope after Can A. If you are lucky, you can get to see pretty girls running, or even luckier, see me!

2. When your hands are itchy(for some reasons), DO NOT REACH UNDER YOUR PANTS! But try doing 3 X 30 reps of push up, with 1 min rest during each interval. It wont last you too long.

3. If you are hungry and feel like ordering MAC, STOP! Instead do 3 X 30 reps of sit-ups or crunches to get back your 8 packs(if you have in the first place).

These exercises do not produce instance results but at least it will help you to maintain what you have. And by just doing it ONCE wont help. For more suggestions, feel free to contribute.

So, if you dont wish to see your tummy coming out when you wear your new jersey, better buck up and maintain your fitness. Ok, STUDY HARD and GOOD LUCK to ME. Thats all folks!

Se7en Soccer takeover 'complete'

Mr Malcom Chew, right, with Se7en Soccer new owner Kristian Thorbjornsen.

Se7en Soccer have reached an agreement with THORB, the apparel line specially designed and developed by Sport360,over the proposed sale of the club.

THORB reportedly completed the takeover late last night after holding discussions with former owner Malcom and the club have now confirmed an agreement has been reached.

The group have already set Tohari Paijan, the Se7en coach, the formidable task of retaining the IHG champion this season, adding that they want to attract the world's best footballers.

"Se7en can confirm that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between THORB and Se7en Soccer," a club statement read.

THORB is expected to be represented on the new board by Kristian Thorbjornsen, and he has already set out the group's vision for the club. The statement also said that THORB had pledged to "solve all the club problems and clear any pending payments, and will comprehensively support the club by bringing the best football players in the world" to Se7en.

It is not known at this stage the exact size of the stake THORB have bought from Malcom, whose future at Se7en as owner has been uncertain following the court proceedings started against him in China, yet THORB say the former always-disappearing owner will remain at the club as honorary president with NO administrative responsibilities.

"A further statement will be released by the club in due course."

Since THORB have kindly agreed to partly sponsored our jerseys, lets not waste their money and effort, and win the IHG for them! Also, please help to advertise this brand to your friends, and those who have social team outside, you can always approach THORB for your jerseys.

Exams Break

Hall 5 (3)-(2) Hall 7

Ok guys, this is how i feel about our overall performance so far, you might not agree with me, but I still have to say this. It is going to be a very long post, but i hope everyone will read every single word i said here.

First of all, I am not angry, or have given up on the team or anyone, I am just disappointed with the attitude of our team towards the match. I have to say that if we continue to perform like that, we are just wasting our own time, money and our poor coach's time and energy of travelling up and down. Please, even if you dont think for the team, think about our coach, he don't even need to train us in the first place, and he is doing us a big favour by coming down every week just to train us. So, please dont ever take him for granted.

Next, it really saddens me when I see the performance today. Everything just went back to square one. I am not happy NOT because we lost, or we cannot score or play beautiful football, but rather at our own players' attitude. When you are selected to represent the team to play, you hold certain responsibilities. Responsibility in terms of helping your teammate by SHOUTING for the ball, supporting him when he have the ball. Responsibility in terms of making a GOOD, FIRM pass to your teammate. Responsbility in terms of helping your teammate by SHOUTING "MAN ON" or "TURN". ALL these are the responsibilities when you are selected to play for the team, nobody can help you and only YOU yourself can be responsible for that.

Why is it fair when I see kai jie bravely use his HEAD to challenge for the ball against the opponents' boots? Why is he defending so hard for the team while i can see others waiting for the ball to land on their feet, or even walking back when we got counter-attacked? I need all of you to understand this responsibility that you must perform when you play.

What i meant by playing hard is not asking you to be a gangster by pushing the opponent from behind, or back-sliding tackle him, or punching him. What i want is you to put pressure on the opponent with the ball. I dont expect you to get the ball from him everytime, but at least RUN in front of him, delay him from advancing forward, and force him to make a lousy pass. THATS ALL. Til now, i can still see our own players ball WATCHING when the opponent is pushing the ball forward unchallenged.

One more thing Im very concerned is the lack of confidence in everyone. I can really see that most of you are afraid to ASK for the ball from your teammate, because you are afraid to make mistake and lose the ball. And once you have the ball, you would want to quickly pass it away so that the responsibility of making the mistake will not be yours anymore. Honestly, i can tell you most of us (including me) have this problem. But, only you can overcome this yourself, NOBODY can help you. So i really challenge all of you to show some character and prove to me that you can overcome this confidence crisis.

Also, if anyone of you are feeling too pressured during trgs/matches and cant cope with the intensity and feel like quitting, pls let me know. I truly understand, and i will encourage you to quit. Dont let all these kill off your passion for soccer. I always believe that you must enjoy playing, dont make this the reason for you to give up on soccer.

Lastly, I know when a team constantly loses, frustrations tend to come in, morale will be low. BUT, the last thing i want to see is our own teammates fighting with each other. This is one thing i CANNOT accept. No matter how frustrated or angry you are, it gives you NO RIGHT to punch/push your own teammates. So please, remember what i have said in the first trg, harmony in the team comes FIRST.

We will stop for exams, think it will be a good time for us to all take a break and think about this. So please study hard for the exams, ultimately, you are here to study and are responsible to get good grades. After the exams, we will start trg immediately, and those who wish to continue playing, be prepared to DIE during trgs.

All in all, I really wish to see character building in the team, everyone performing their responsibilities. Dont SAY it to me that you will improve/or buck up/work harder, SHOW it.

Have a good break. Thats all for me. Anyone got anything to say can add it into the comments section below this post.

The journey will never be easy.

(The captain that never quits on his team)

"Se7en Soccer need takeover to compete with rivals"

Depleted Se7en ended a disappointing week with a 3-2 lost to Hall 2 in a pre season friendly on Sunday. Pengzema and Imranhimovic had joined Jia Xi on Se7en's absentee list at a sunny afternoon, leaving Babigas aka KT as the only recognised star player.

Se7en found it tough to break down a spirited Hall 2 side, although goalkeeper Robert GreenLun had to produce a few saves to deny Hall 2 in the first half. However, Hall 2 broke the deadlock within 20 mins of play, capitalising on Se7en's defensive mistake, with the striker sending the ball into the top corner. First half ended with a few through passes from Se7en's inspirational captain Babigas, and a great linked up play between Puyol and Emir saw Chung Chi's shot missed narrowly wide.

Se7en had the lion's share of possession and pressed forward for a winner in the second half. Yao Liang flashing a drive over the bar and Kelvinder Cole having an effort blocked out by the Hall 2 keeper. It was Hall 2 who extended the lead, with a freekick placed into the bottom left, although a much better diving effort from Robert GreenLun would have prevented the soft goal. A huge sign of relief from the big keeper as Tohari Capello was absent to see his blunder.

Se7en responded by scoring 2 back in quick succession with Yao Liang and Kelvinder Cole finishing off on the mistakes from the Hall 2 defenders. Boos and Jeers could be heard from the opposition fans in response to Kelvinder Cole's outrageous celebration.

Tempers began to fray as the tension mounted and Puyol appeared to lash out at the Hall 2's left back. However, all effort was wasted when just minutes before the final whistle.A cross from the Hall 2 winger was not dealt with, leaving Robert GreenLun stranded as the Hall 2 Striker headed the ball into the net, claiming their victory over the defending champions. The match ended 3-2.

After the game, security heightened as fans plan a march to protest against Malcom's ownership of the club, who have come under pressure from fans' groups angry at the debt and direction of Se7en. This would be a third consecutive defeat in the 3 pre season friendly that Se7en had.

Kristian Thorbjornsen, owner of the sports apparel brand THORB, is regarded as the No.1 mover and potential new owner of Se7en Soccer. It has been confirmed that Se7en Soccer have signed a new sponsorship deal with THORB and the players would be wearing the new THORB Red and Black strip home kit for the first match of the season.

Soon-to-be new owner Kristian Thorbjornsen told Se7ensoccernet.com: "Se7en requires further investment in the team to compete, and for that reason it would benefit from new owners who could invest and give the club the backing to sponsor the new jersey that it needs." Both players and fans will be relieved to see the takeover being successfully done as they had enough of Malcom's disappearing act and his smelly T-shirts.

Se7en: Robert GreenLun, Puyol, Caxvra, Leslie(Ledley)King, Linus, Babigas, Chinaman, Boon Khai, Emir, Harvinder Yorke, Kelvinder Cole, Owen, Cristiano Boonaldo, Allan the Destroyer, Chung Chi, Yao Liang.

Match Report

Hall 11 4 - 2 Hall 7

As we all know, we played badly in the first half, letting all 4 goals in a space of 20mins? Like i said, its not how skillfull or fast our players are, but how determined we want the ball. All of you can see the difference between the second and third half, how we chase the opponents down.

Nevertheless, i can go on and on but the fact is, we are still miles and miles away from getting the standard we want, like i said, if u really want the gold, everyone must be prepared to work hard and die on the field.

I never want to see any repeat of the first half again.
For your information, our committed keeper Jespal dislocated his finger last tues. So, pls send him a message and ask him how he is. 9880 6339 - Jespal

Message from Se7en loanshark...

The names below had been blacklisted by the Se7en Financial Department for failing to pay the soccer fund of $30 promptly:

1. Cax
2. Yuan Ming
3. Kai Jie

After repeated reminders, these 3 black sheeps still refused to pay up. Left with no choice, Se7en Financial Department hired the Se7en loanshark to be in charge of collecting the funds.

Interview with the loanshark states that they will use all sorts of methods, including hanging pig heads at their hall room, urinating at their boots and disturbing their girlfriends. Quoted: " You better pay up! or else your gf staying at block 36 better watch out!".

Checking the Se7en record books, accountants are reportedly furious with one person, CAX, who have always been VERY LATE in his payment for his 3 years in Se7en Soccer. Loansharks have been spotted putting up pictures of him (like one below)around hall to seek him. Cax, if you are looking at this, you better watch your own back.

Cax with his cocky look. But who will have the last laugh?

Anyway, as all of you can see, our standard from the previous friendly is definitely not not good enough at all. So all please buck up!

Lakesh hands in Hall 8 transfer request

Hall 8 midfieder Lakesh has reportedly handed in a transfer request to try and force the pace of his move to Hall 7.

The Gombak United Prime League player is said to be determined to secure his move to Hall 7.

A club source has confirmed Lakesh handed in a written transfer request, having only previously told Paulus, the Hall 8 Sports Sec, verbally that he wanted out of Hall 8.

Now it seems he has his heart set on a move to Hall 7, after being spotted by reporters in Penisular buying boots with Hall 7 players, including Booney, Pengz, Yuanming and Kt.

Lakesh: On his way to Hall 7?

Lakesh's agent told se7ensoccernet.com: 'If Hall 7 really come with a very good person to swap with, I believe Lakesh may leave Hall 8 as it would be the best for him and his girlfriend.

Now, the Hall 8 star's brother has claimed Lakesh is keen to link up with fellow countryman Kt.

'I am sure Kt and Lakesh have spoken,' he said. 'Kt is one of the people who have been pushing the most for Lakesh to play at Hall 7.'

Upon knowing this rumours, fans of hall 8 started the "Lakesh, dont go" campaign, urging the center midfielder not to leave.

Meanwhile, knowing that the possible swap between veteran wx and lakesh, fans have been protesting against the club's decision, as they do not want an "owen" in their young squad.

Lakesh is due to move back to Hall 8 first when school reopens as the negotiations over his possible transfer drag on.

Owen scores as Se7en records unconvincing victory

Se7en recorded their first victory of the pre-season campaign with an 1-0 win over the NJC punksters on Sunday early afternoon.

A pre-match scare came from yuanming as he claimed that there are 20 players in the NJC team, only to realise they only had 10 men before the game got underway. With external support from both kee siang and manfred (both heavily linked with a move to se7en), the match went on with Njc in red and the away side sporting their stylish white away strip.

Just right after the kickoff, the ball was played to the left flank. Out of the blue, manfred fell straight, butt down(very ugly sight) while back-tracking. "Who slide me ar?!" could be heard from manfred as the ref waves play on. No protests from the team as there was obviously nobody around him.

After a tentative opening, our very own Owen(aka WX)had the first opportunity of the game when he received a give-away ball from the Njc defender. With only a few yards out, the 30-year-old ex-hall 5 striker blasted the ball over, as if the goal post was as high as the rugby goal. Upon the stunning shot, many of his teammates were heard hurling vulgarities at him, some say including the referee.

More chances came as both manfred and boon took control of the flanks, with the tireless kee siang and leslie commanding the center. One incident came when manfred from left flank decided to square the ball back to boon outside the box, only to be rejected by boon's “什么来的”.For all their possession, the Se7en Team were struggling to break down a stubborn Njc rearguard.

Another highlight came when se7en was awarded a freekick outside the post. Taking charge were the 2 most senior players, leslie and wx. However, wx's freekick was once again disappointing and we wished that his shot were as nice as his pose with leslie before the kick.

The best chance of the first half came from boon, as the young winger was looking lively and he was unfortunate to see his shot on the turn deflected away from the post by the Njc keeper on the half hour mark, after some excellent link-up play involving peng. The score ended 0-0 as the second half ended. Fans could be heard from the sides, requesting wx not to take anymore corners.

Changes were made during the interval as jiaxi came on in midfield to replace ym, while cax and kj switched positions.

Second half was much the same as more chances were created, only to be wasted by Se7en's lousy finishing. However, what was commendable was Se7en's stable defence, as the Njc punksters found it hard to break down.

Finally, the visitors finally opened the scoring minutes after the second half when manfred's low drive from the side found an open wx, landing a direct shot straight at the Njc keeper. Upon seeng so many chances wasted by wx, the keeper decided to help him by scooping the ball backwards into his own goal, enabling wx to cap his first pre-season goal.

Further chances were created with the introduction of kt, sending numerous through balls to the flanks. The final chance came from cax's swerving cross connected by wx's header, only to hit the post. The rebound fell to kt, however, sending the ball over with his lousy header from few yards out. Fans showed their appreciation as they know that it is the bumpy ground and lousy ball that caused him to miss it.

The match ended 1-0 to the Se7en Team.

After the match, speculations continued with lakesh rumoured to be linked to Se7en, as a possible swap between wx and lakesh seems to come to a deal. wx was reported to have fallen out with his teammates, one incident claiming that he wanted to challenge the no.9 shirt with BH9.

Se7en: Duh Xiang, Cax, Kai Jie, Linus, Yuan Ming, Leslie, Kee Siang, Boon, Manfred, Peng, Wei Xiong, KT, Jia Xi.

Fee free to add any comments on the match guys. :)

Now, for the Toyota Girl of the Week.

PS: anyone knows this girl please let me know, i want to add her on facebook. hahaha
