NIKE ELITE LIVE TRAINING SESSION PUTS THE TOTAL90 LASER III BOOTS AND JUVENTUS FC TRAINING PROGRAMME TO THE TEST

NIKE ELITE LIVE TRAINING SESSION PUTS THE TOTAL90 LASER III BOOTS AND JUVENTUS FC TRAINING PROGRAMME TO THE TEST

Singapore (March 3, 2010) – Around 100 youths from various schools and clubs all over Singapore attended the Nike Elite Live Training session held at Tampines SAFRA last Saturday.

The scorching heat did little to sap their enthusiasm as they excitedly trialled the Total90 Laser III football boots, engaging in interactive video-based tips and drills developed by Nike’s elite football players and coaches.

Led by former national team captain Nazri Nasir, young football lovers who were aiming to improve their shooting and technique took part in the Master Accuracy training drills, conceived specially for T90 boot users by Italian football giants Juventus FC. These skills were put to the test afterwards as they attempted a series of dribbling and shooting drills as part of the Torres Challenge.

The challenge is part of the unique Nike Football+ digital experience that users of the T90 boots can enjoy. Every pair of boots comes with a unique user code that provides online access to Nike Football+, a digital coaching programme featuring a detailed ‘signature move’ from Fernando Torres of Liverpool FC, as well as expert tuition provided by the coaching team from Juventus FC.

“The digital Nike Football+ coaching programme has given young budding football players in Singapore the benefit of learning from the top coaches and players around the world. The kids had a great time trying the drills out and I think it’s good that Nike has given them the chance to learn from the best in the game,” said coach Nazri Nasir.

Participants also saw this as a chance to lace up the Total90 Laser III boots, and discover for themselves the technology behind them. 17 year-old student Muhammad Salam found his Total90 boots more comfortable than what he’s worn before. “What I’ve always liked about Nike’s boots is that they fit me well and help me to improve my game,” he said after his training session.

“It was a great experience for me to try the drills from Juventus and Torres, and this training has inspired me to train harder to bring my game to the next level!” he added.

The Nike Football+ digital coaching program can be accessed at www.nikefootball.com. The Nike Football+ training package provides exclusive access to the world’s elite teams, allowing players to enhance their level of play and better equip them for game day preparation.

The Total90 Laser III boot is now available at the Nike stores for S$319.

Soccer friendly

The IHG journey ends here.

Yes. We lost.

And to many, losing in the quarters will seem unacceptable as everyone expects us to go far. But to me, though im very disappointed about losing, at least i know that in these 3 years of my hall life, i haven lost the friendship with the people in this soccer team.

I just want to mention that what happened has happened; there is nothing much we can do now. You can say we dominate the game, or blame it on luck, the field, or even the ref, but one thing is for sure, we lost to a more hardworking and motivated side.

This brings to my next point of why i think we lost. First of all, i felt that it all boils down to us not training hard enough. If you were to look back, how many trainings have you attended? And among those you attended, how many have you treated it seriously? There is no such thing as winning the easy way, do not expect miracles to happen.

Only you yourself know whether you trained hard enough or not, whether you prepared yourself well before the game by sleeping early etc. For those who have done so, i would really like to thank you and appreciate your efforts. But for those who didnt, i think you owe the team an apology. An apology for not training hard enough, an apology for not preparing yourself well. An apology for letting your teammates down.

Nevertheless, i still appreciate all of you for coming to trainings, forking your own money out for trainings and the jerseys, and even sacrificing your weekends for trainings and friendly matches. Guess this is it for our IHG soccer season, no more dreading to come trainings, and no more preparations for matches.

Looking into the future, this is my 5 cents worth of advice for those who will continue to play next year. Be HUMBLE and train HARD.

Attitude is the most important thing you have to have in you when you play soccer, or even in anything else. If you want to have the mindset that you are the best, and not train, then you will not perform. Trust me, no matter what you do, the attitude is very important. So always remember, be humble. Next, train extra hard. There is no other secrets to success. Lastly, like i always stressed before, the harmony of the team must be strong. And i believe one of the reasons why we lost is due to the lack of a strong bond in our team.

To the graduating people, good luck to whatever you are going to do, and really thank you for your hardwork and efforts put in.

To all, although we have lost, our soccer journey dont end here. Please dont give up on soccer, the sport that brought us all together. Continue playing in whatever team you have and continue to enjoy playing it. Thats all from me. Good Luck guys.

One last time from your captain,
KT

THE EMIRATES TO TURN (RED) TO ‘LACE UP. SAVE LIVES’

THE EMIRATES TO TURN (RED) TO ‘LACE UP. SAVE LIVES
'

Singapore (January 30th, 2010)- The Emirates Stadium will turn (RED) this Sunday as Arsenal play host to Manchester United, in a game which sees both clubs show their support for the (NIKE) RED ‘Lace Up. Save Lives’ partnership that generates funds to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

(RED) goal-nets – a first in the Barclays Premier League, will sit between the posts for the match and a giant (NIKE)RED lace will be hung around the middle tier of the stadium to ‘tie the stadium together’.

Players from both clubs, including Cesc Fabregas, Andrei Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand, will wear (NIKE)RED laces in their boots during the game and both sides will run out onto the pitch wearing (NIKE)RED track jackets to show their commitment to the partnership.

And fans too can show their support for the initiative by raising (NIKE)RED ‘Lace Up. Save Lives’ cards as the players take to the pitch before kick-off, uniting both sets of supporters and the global TV audience to raise awareness of the partnership through the power of football.

(NIKE)RED invites people to ‘Lace Up. Save Lives’ by purchasing a pair of (NIKE) RED laces. One hundred percent of its Nike’s profits from the sales of (NIKE)RED laces goes to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which funds AIDS programs that provide medicine for those living with HIV, and football-based community initiatives that deliver education and understanding around HIV/AIDS prevention.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s match Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: “Arsenal Football Club understands the importance of the HIV/AIDS issue globally and with the world’s fans focusing on Africa in this World Cup year there is a great opportunity to make a real difference through the power of football in 2010. Arsenal Football Club is proud to support the (NIKE) RED ‘Lace Up. Save Lives’ partnership.”

On the (NIKE) RED partnership Arsenal’s Andrei Arshavin says: “If life gives you a little bit more than it does other people, then you must give something back. Football is the most popular sport in the world. It shows that everyone can help, regardless of where they are from.”

Leo Sandino-Taylor, Nike UK Head of PR & Communications said, “Nike has a proven history of elevating global causes through sport. With the continued support of our athletes and clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United we can play a major role in amplifying this important issue.”

On 30th November 2009 Didier Drogba (Chelsea), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Andrei Arshavin (Arsenal), Denilson (Arsenal), Marco Materazzi (Inter Milan), Lucas Neill (Everton), Clint Dempsey (Fulham) and Seol Ki-Hyeon (Fulham) joined U2 front man Bono at Niketown to announce the partnership between NIKE, Inc. and (RED).

(Nike)RED laces are available to buy now at Nike Store locations, key retailers and www.nikefootball.com/RED at a cost of £4.00 per pair. Here in Singapore, the laces can be purchased at the Nike Flagship Store in Wisma Atria at SGD$7.00 per pair.
